The Treehouse

Our incredible accommodation while riding in the Great Smokey Mountains is DEFINITELY worth a blog!  Keep reading for ALL the details on The Treehouse.

WOW WOW WOW! We knew this place would be awesome from the pictures, descriptions and reviews but we had NO idea just how INCREDIBLE it would be!!! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel right at home by both Richard and Rhonda. We received the warmest welcome and a thoughtful tour of the spectacular property. They fully accommodated us pulling a trailer with motorcycles showing us various places we could park the trailer and bikes.  All seemed ideal as the property was very private and we felt like everything was beyond safe.  Being a Harley owner, Richard was even able to give us recommendations on great local roads in addition to those we had planned.

Surrounding the treehouse, there were beautiful, private hiking trails, a disc golf course (which we didn't have the opportunity to explore), sunny open fields where i set-up a lounge chair and did some writing.  There was a spacious wrap around deck with a relaxing set of chimes and a small outdoor kitchen which overlooked a tiny waterfall near the firepit. Our favorite part was found beneath the treehouse - an outdoor shower along with two claw foot bath tubs.  The treehouse itself felt like it was from a fairytale.

After 200+ mile rides each days, we were able to take the most soothing hot baths outside in the sparking clean tubs right beside the fire pit where endless firewood was provided. We made more S'mores than I'd like to admit but having square marshmallows was definitely a game-changer.

Inside, the treehouse was immaculate- everything felt fresh, clean and new. And there wasn’t a thing we needed that we couldn’t find neatly organized throughout the house. The bright white towels were fluffy. The bed was as enormous and comfy. The loft was spacious. The cozy window seats provided an amazing view as did the wrap around porch. That small waterfall was the perfect addition to the relaxing, natural ambiance.

Lastly, the small, personal touches made it feel like the most thoughtful and welcoming accommodations ever - a card wishing us well on our motorcycle rides along with a gift of artisan soaps (which were also plentiful throughout the treehouse). And Clay especially liked that there was a coffee machine along with cookies.  Although these were small gestures - they really touched our hearts. When the time came, it was very difficult to leave.  We would have loved to extend our stay - but work back home in NY was calling.  Maybe next time.

We absolutely can’t wait to stay with these wonderful hosts again - wherever they host a property.  For anyone heading to this area, the treehouse is an absolute MUST.  Contact me for specific location.
