![]() We feel extremely blessed to have been co-hosts of the East End's very first Distinguished Gentleman's Ride. It was such an honor to work alongside Ian Wile from Little Creek Oysters to put on such an enjoyable event that raised $10K+ for mens health on behalf of the Movember Foundation. (photo to the left by Jeremy Garreston Fine Art Photography) The weather was absolutely perfect for a slow ride through wine country, twisting along beachfront roads, parading through the harbor town of Greenport and being welcomed by the Orient State Park in the "homestretch". Little Creek Oyster's Sunshine Shack generously donated a BBQ lunch for all participants, and we handed out prizes for the most money raised (way to go, Dana!) the most dapper attendee (our Dane mascots' vet, Dr. D'Amato) and the best ride (Christian's Custom Harley Electra Glide). We couldn't have done any of this without our extremely generous sponsors who provided funds, volunteer efforts, and prizes for our event - Little Creek Oysters, North Fork Moto, 78 Motor Co., First and South, Crescendo Designs, and Lettieri Construction. See below for footage from our incredible day! And don't miss next year's event! Black and White Gallery by Jeremy Garretson Fine Art Photography using 4x5 film for the perfect vintage feel! ![]() Yes, it's been nearly 15 years since I organized and hosted a moto event. So I couldn't be happier to have partnered with Little Creek Oysters to host the East End's FIRST Distinguished Gentleman's Ride on May 21st 2023. This worldwide event to benefit men's health has always been something I wanted to participate in. But the closest ride was in NYC, and that event is so large, it was rather daunting. So I was elated when Ian Wile from Little Creek Oysters approached us and encouraged us to co-host a North Fork Distinguished Gentlemen's Ride. I wasted no time doing my research, applying to be a host, learning all the rules, and digging into their countless resources to help make this ride the "Dapper" event that it's known to be around the world. Currently, we're hoping to have more riders register to increase awareness and donations. We are also looking for more sponsors that want to be involved in this event or support our efforts in any way possible (get in touch! northforkmoto@yahoo.com). All money raised will go to the Movember Foundation which supports prostate cancer research and mental health awareness around the world. More information can be found on the registration page. Although we're a bit late to the "planning" game, we hope to be able to spread the word and increase participation before May 21st, as our registration numbers will determine the details of the reception at the end of our route. While the rules don't allow us to publish the route (as that's information for registered riders and volunteers only) I can assure you, it meanders along some of the most scenic roads on the North Fork before ending at Little Creek's Sunshine Shack in Orient State Park. Little Creek is even covering the cost of entry into the park that day - yes, they are such a supportive company! Oh, and let's not forget the pre-ride festivities at our coffeeshop beginning at 11am. Registered riders and volunteers will meet at the North Fork Moto coffeebar (inside LUMBER + Salt at 5570 Sound Ave. in Jamesport, NY) for check-in, complimentary coffee, latte specials, and pastries. Our "dapper" menu wouldn't be complete without an Old Fashioned (mocktail due to permitting) that has Spiritless Kentucky 74 non-alcoholic bourbon, chocolate, orange bitters and a shot of NOFO MOTO espresso! Proceeds from the sales of the Old Fashioned will be donated to the Ride. Further details about ride etiquette, updates to the route, and other important details will be shared in a pre-ride briefing before we leave the shop. So find your most "dapper" vintage apparel (yes, you MUST dress the part) and stock up on riding gloves and bike accessories from our moto boutique so both you and your bike are ready for the Distinguished Gentlemen's Ride on May 21st. Email us for more information or to volunteer, or visit the following link to register for the ride: https://www.gentlemansride.com/rides/united+states/jamesport And special thanks to our co-host, Little Creek Oysters, for their sponsorship and encouragement on this incredible event! |
