WOW, this year's event was absolutely AMAZING! I can't thank our wonderful community enough for coming together for such an worthwhile cause - MENS HEALTH. The 2nd Annual North Fork Distinguished Gentleman's Ride took place Sunday May 19th and this year we had 80 riders participate in the ride and raise an incredible - $27k+ for the Movember Foundation. This is OUTSTANDING considering last year we had only 23 riders and we raised just over $12k. The event grew exponentially this year, and thankfully we had two photographers (Jeremy Garretson and Corinne Tousey) who captured all the highlights of this remarkable ride that put The North Fork on the US-leaderboards for this worldwide event. The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride is an annual international charity event celebrating classic and vintage styled motorcycles and the dapper gentlefolk that ride them. The DGR unites motorcycle riders all over the world to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and men's mental health. Movember has been the official charity partner of The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride since 2016. Both organizations share a simple goal: to bring people together and change the face of men's health. Funds raised by The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride help to power Movember's initiatives such as mental health programs for veterans and first responders, research in improving care for prostate cancer patients, and building social connections for men to combat anxiety, depression and suicide. North Fork Moto feels that this is a worthwhile cause for men around the world and is proud to support The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride and Movember. This is our second year proudly co-hosting the North Fork's Distinguished Gentleman's event. Our planning started in March of 2024, and with our consistent efforts throughout the past few months, we were able to host an extraordinary event. None of this would have been possible without the help of so many supportive people and businesses. First and foremost - all of our dedicated riders who donned their dapper attire and spent weeks raising funds, prepping their bikes and spreading awareness about this cause. This event wouldn't exist without this dedicated community of riders, who prioritize mens health. Secondly, the biggest thanks to Breezehill Farm that not only welcomed our group to their beautiful coastal property on the Long Island Sound, but also provided the riders with hot apple cider donuts to go with our North Fork Moto coffee. Dee and Enid, at the farm, were an absolute pleasure to work with and made coordinating our event a "breeze". Ian Wile of Little Creek Oysters, The Sunshine Shack and The Hold Fast Fund graciously provided his location in Orient State Park to host the end-of-ride reception, gave our riders a discount on their food and beverages, and even secured the amazing Jon DeVillo and talented musician friends to entertain our riders. Their music was adored by all! Our photographers were absolute ROCKSTARS as well. Jeremy Garreston joined us for the second year in a row and Corinne Tousey bravely rode in our sidecar to capture action shots during the ride; and even Ian Wile took and edited some amazing footage! Both photographers generously donated their time and talents to our event. We also would like to extend our appreciation to the Orient State Park team for welcoming our event and catering to any and all of our needs; the Town of Southold for expediting our special event permit; and Southold PD Captain Steven Grattan and Motorcycle Officer Pete for making the ride safe and smooth for all riders. We are also grateful to all the businesses that donated prizes to show appreciate for the efforts of our riders. Prizes were awarded for the bike most "on-theme", most dapper rider, and to the rider who raised the most money. Prizes were donated by: -Little Creek Oysters -North Fork Moto -Merla Moto -Ev&Em Vineyards -Lucharitos -Trimble's Nursery -Maximum Motorsports -Pete's Ultimate Detailing -Giorgios Barbershop -Triumph of Nassau Lastly, PLEASE show our photographers appreciation and support by purchasing a few of your favorite photos from their gallery. We want to show them how much we appreciate their participation and hopefully make it worthwhile for them to attend future events and continue sharing their talents with our community.
